Bogor, Indonesia — The Bogor Regency Government in West Java has won first place at the Mandaya Awards 2025 in the district category, thanks to its flagship Samisade (Satu Miliar Satu Desa) program. The award was presented on October 16, 2025, at the Ballroom Plaza Jamsostek in Jakarta by Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, and received by Bogor’s Regional Secretary Ajat Rochmat Jatnika on behalf of Regent Rudy Susmanto.
Samisade, which translates to “One Billion for One Village,” is a participatory development initiative that allocates one billion rupiah annually to each village in Bogor Regency. The funds are used for infrastructure projects, poverty reduction, and community empowerment, with villagers directly involved in planning and execution. This bottom‑up approach has been praised for accelerating rural development, strengthening accountability, and fostering a sense of ownership among local communities.
The Mandaya Awards are held annually to recognize governments, organizations, and individuals who demonstrate outstanding commitment to sustainable community empowerment. Bogor’s victory highlights how local government innovation can drive measurable improvements in people’s lives. According to Ajat Rochmat Jatnika, the award is proof that Samisade has become a model for participatory development, aligning with national goals of reducing inequality and boosting rural resilience.
With more than 400 villages under its administration, Bogor Regency has shown that consistent implementation of Samisade can create a ripple effect, inspiring other regions to adopt similar schemes. The program’s success demonstrates that direct investment in villages is one of the most effective strategies for inclusive growth in Indonesia.
