BRI Group secures six FinanceAsia 2026 recognitions across leadership, ESG, investor relations, DEI, banking and securities services.

JAKARTA — BRI Group has strengthened its standing in the international financial arena after securing six recognitions from FinanceAsia 2026. The awards span leadership, environmental, social and governance (ESG), investor relations, diversity and inclusion, domestic banking and securities services, reflecting the breadth of the group’s transformation.

The recognitions were presented through two FinanceAsia programmes: the Asia’s Best Companies 2026 Poll and the FinanceAsia Awards 2026. Together, they place BRI among Indonesian financial institutions receiving international recognition for both corporate performance and broader contributions to the financial ecosystem.

One of the most prominent recognitions went to BRI President Director and Group CEO Hery Gunardi, who was named Best CEO in the Asia’s Best Companies 2026 Poll. The programme draws on assessments from investors and analysts evaluating leading companies across Asian industries.

BRI also received Gold for Best Investor Relations – Domestic and Bronze for Most Committed ESG. These recognitions highlight the growing importance of transparent communication with investors and the integration of sustainability considerations into corporate strategy.

At the FinanceAsia Awards 2026, BRI was recognised as Most DEI Progressive Bank and received a Highly Commended distinction for Best Bank – Domestic. Meanwhile, its subsidiary BRI Danareksa Sekuritas (BRIDS) was named Best Securities Service in Indonesia.

FinanceAsia’s assessment of BRI’s DEI performance points to initiatives that extend across its workforce, customers and communities. The publication highlighted nearly IDR185 trillion in micro and ultra-micro lending, primarily benefiting female entrepreneurs, as well as financial-literacy programmes that reached more than 113,000 women.

The recognition also reflects BRI’s extensive distribution infrastructure. FinanceAsia noted that the bank has more than one million BRILink agents and serves more than 183 million savings accounts nationwide. Such a network provides an important foundation for extending formal financial services to communities across Indonesia.

BRI’s approach to inclusion is also visible within its organisation. FinanceAsia highlighted women’s leadership development, enhanced parental leave, flexible working arrangements and mental-health support as part of the bank’s broader DEI initiatives.

The recognition for BRIDS meanwhile demonstrates the importance of digital innovation in Indonesia’s capital markets. FinanceAsia cited the company’s BRIGHTS platform, including Auto Order and SmartInvest Mutual Fund, as initiatives designed to improve accessibility and efficiency for retail investors.

From a broader market perspective, the awards arrive as financial institutions across Asia continue to navigate geopolitical tensions, changing trade dynamics and macroeconomic uncertainty. FinanceAsia noted that Asia-Pacific capital markets remained resilient and adaptable, while innovation increasingly extended across technology, sustainability and DEI.

For Indonesia, BRI’s achievement carries significance beyond the performance of a single banking group. It demonstrates how a domestic financial institution can combine commercial scale with financial inclusion, sustainability, digital innovation and capital-market development.

Hery Gunardi said the awards represent recognition of BRI’s business model in delivering inclusive, relevant and competitive financial services. He also attributed the achievement to the collective contribution of Insan BRILian and the company’s continuing transformation.

The six recognitions therefore offer a broad picture of BRI’s current position. Leadership provides the strategic direction, investor relations strengthen market confidence, ESG supports long-term sustainability, while DEI and financial inclusion broaden the social impact of banking services.

At the same time, the recognition of BRIDS demonstrates that the group’s transformation extends beyond conventional banking. The development of digital investment services creates additional opportunities for Indonesian investors to participate in the country’s growing capital markets.

As competition across Asia’s financial sector intensifies, institutions will increasingly be measured by their ability to combine financial performance with innovation and meaningful economic impact. BRI’s latest FinanceAsia achievements indicate that these elements are becoming increasingly interconnected.

Ultimately, BRI Group’s six FinanceAsia 2026 awards represent more than a collection of international accolades. They underline the continuing evolution of Indonesia’s financial sector and the growing ability of its leading institutions to compete, innovate and contribute on a broader international stage.
