Jasa Raharja’s four TOP GRC Awards 2026 highlight its governance, risk management and compliance commitment while strengthening institutional credibility and international readiness.

JAKARTA — Governance, risk management and compliance are increasingly becoming strategic elements in determining the credibility and resilience of institutions. Against this backdrop, PT Jasa Raharja (Persero) has strengthened its institutional profile after receiving four recognitions at the TOP GRC Awards 2026 in Jakarta.

The awards, presented at Hotel Raffles Jakarta on September 9, 2026, comprised the Platinum Medal, TOP GRC Awards 2026 #Star 5, The High Performing Board of Commissioners on GRC 2026, and The Most Committed GRC Leader 2026 for President Director Muhammad Awaluddin. The recognitions were received by Awaluddin together with Independent Commissioner Viviet Savitri Prapita S.

For Jasa Raharja, the significance of the recognition extends beyond an award ceremony. The company has maintained a five-star TOP GRC rating for eight consecutive years from 2019 to 2026, while The High Performing Board of Commissioners on GRC has been retained for six consecutive years from 2021 to 2026. The Most Committed GRC Leader recognition has also been maintained during the same period.

From Compliance to Institutional Credibility

Muhammad Awaluddin has emphasized that GRC should not be viewed simply as a mechanism for fulfilling regulatory requirements. At Jasa Raharja, governance, risk management and compliance are positioned as elements that should be integrated into business processes, decision-making and daily operations, with the ultimate objective of supporting better public services.

This approach is increasingly relevant as financial and insurance-related institutions operate within a more complex risk environment. Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) has stated that governance, risk management and integrity are important foundations for building a financial services sector that is resilient, adaptive and competitive. OJK has also highlighted emerging challenges including cyber risks, artificial intelligence, regulatory changes, geopolitical uncertainty and climate-related risks.

For an institution serving a public protection function, consistent governance can therefore contribute to stakeholder confidence. Jasa Raharja’s continued GRC recognition provides an external indication of the company’s sustained attention to governance and risk practices, although the awards themselves should be understood as recognition of the company’s GRC implementation rather than as a measure of every aspect of its overall performance.

Relevance Beyond the Domestic Market

The international relevance of strong GRC practices lies in their ability to create a common institutional language for dealing with regulators, partners, investors, professional communities and other stakeholders. As organizations increasingly participate in interconnected regional and global ecosystems, transparent governance and structured risk management can become important elements of institutional credibility.

Jasa Raharja has also linked its GRC agenda with data, technology, organizational culture and sustainability. The theme of TOP GRC Awards 2026, “Sustainability by Design: A Journey Through Intelligent GRC”, reflects a broader movement toward integrating sustainability with governance, risk management, compliance and technology.

This direction is consistent with developments in Indonesia’s financial-services regulatory environment. OJK has continued to strengthen governance and risk-based supervision in the insurance, guarantee and pension-fund sectors, while encouraging the industry to build stronger resilience and sustainable growth.

For Jasa Raharja, the strategic implication is not necessarily an immediate international expansion agenda. Rather, sustained governance practices can strengthen the institutional foundation required for engagement with regional stakeholders, professional networks and potential cross-border collaborations where comparable standards of accountability and risk management are important.

Building Trust for the Next Stage

The company’s GRC journey also reflects a broader shift in how institutional reputation is developed. Reputation is increasingly connected not only with public visibility, but also with how consistently an organization manages risks, makes decisions, maintains accountability and translates governance principles into operational practices.

Jasa Raharja has stated that strengthening integrated and sustainable GRC is intended to support higher-quality decision-making, organizational resilience and sustainable value for stakeholders. The company also attributes the continuity of its GRC achievements to the involvement of its Board of Directors, Board of Commissioners and employees across the organization.

In an environment where institutional trust is becoming increasingly important across borders, such consistency can provide a stronger foundation for reputation building. The four TOP GRC Awards 2026 therefore represent not only a recognition of Jasa Raharja’s current governance practices, but also a milestone in its continuing effort to build an institution that is accountable, resilient and prepared for an increasingly interconnected operating environment.
