At the prestigious Asia World Model United Nations (AWMUN) X, eight Indonesian students emerged victorious, earning international accolades among peers from 27 countries. The conference took place in Kuala Lumpur and served as a simulation of real-world United Nations councils.
IGN President Muhammad Fahrizal emphasized that this moment marks a turning point for Indonesia’s youth, who have proven their readiness to discuss and resolve global issues on an international stage.
The students competed in councils such as UNICEF, UNEP, WHO, and ILO, tackling complex issues aligned with the conference’s theme: “Navigating the Future.” Their awards ranged from Best Delegate to Best Position Paper, reflecting both their research abilities and eloquence in debate.
Fahrizal noted that AWMUN is more than a competition—it’s a training ground for future leaders. He also encouraged schools to support students in joining such events.
Because AWMUN is registered under Indonesia’s Ministry of Education through Puspresnas, the awardees’ achievements are officially recognized and carry academic value.
Participation in international MUN events not only boosts confidence but also enhances students’ chances of receiving scholarships and admissions to top universities.
The eight awardees represent a diverse group of schools across Indonesia, from Bandung to Bali, reflecting the growing excellence of education nationwide.
