Jakarta — Katadata Indonesia has awarded 28 companies with the Katadata ESG Index Awards 2025, recognizing their commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. The awards were presented during the Sustainability Action for the Future Economy (SAFE) 2025 event at Hotel Kempinski, Jakarta, on September 10.

This year’s evaluation introduced a new dimension: the gender pillar, developed in collaboration with Katadata Insights Center, IBCWi, and Investing in Women. The addition reflects a growing emphasis on inclusive governance and workplace equity within ESG frameworks.

Awardees span eight key sectors: banking, mining, plantations, food and beverage, transportation and logistics, chemicals, energy, and hospitality. Notable winners include Bank Mandiri, Vale Indonesia, Unilever Indonesia, and Garuda Indonesia, each recognized for sector-specific innovations in sustainability.

In the plantation sector, companies like Astra Agro Lestari and Dharma Satya Nusantara were honored for waste reduction and biodiversity initiatives. Meanwhile, PLN and Pertamina led the energy category with programs focused on carbon reduction and renewable integration.

The gender-focused awards spotlighted companies such as PT Eagle High Plantations, PT Samudera Indonesia, and PT Chandra Asri Pacific, which demonstrated measurable progress in gender representation and inclusive policy-making.

Katadata CEO Metta Dharmasaputra emphasized that the awards are grounded in the Katadata ESG Index, developed since 2022 to benchmark corporate sustainability performance. “This is not just recognition—it’s a call to scale up ESG action across industries,” he stated during the ceremony.

As ESG becomes a central metric for investment and reputation, the Katadata ESG Index Awards serve as both validation and motivation. For Indonesia’s corporate sector, the message is clear: sustainability is no longer optional—it’s the foundation of future competitiveness.
