Dhaka — The Bangladesh Business Awards 2025, jointly organized by DHL Express Bangladesh and The Daily Star, celebrated the nation’s most influential entrepreneurs and enterprises at a ceremony held at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden. Now in its 23rd edition, the awards have become a hallmark of excellence, honoring individuals and organizations that have shaped Bangladesh’s economic transformation.
This year’s honorees included Mashrur Arefin, Managing Director and CEO of City Bank; SM Mahbubul Alam, Managing Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries; M Anis Ud Dowla, Chairman of ACI Group; and Sadia Haque, Co-founder and CEO of ShareTrip2. Their leadership stories reflect the diversity of Bangladesh’s private sector, spanning finance, technology, manufacturing, and digital services.
Walton Hi-Tech Industries was recognized as Enterprise of the Year, marking its second time receiving the award after first winning in 2014. The company has been instrumental in reshaping Bangladesh’s electronics industry, moving from import dependence to becoming a globally competitive brand. This recognition underscores Walton’s role in driving industrial innovation and national pride.
The awards also highlighted the resilience of Bangladesh’s business community in navigating global challenges. From digital transformation to sustainable growth, the winners demonstrated how local enterprises are adapting to shifting market dynamics while maintaining competitiveness on the international stage.
Attorney General Burhanuddin emphasized that the awards are not only a recognition of individual achievement but also a call to strengthen the credibility of Indonesia’s prosecution service. He noted that prosecutors play a vital role in upholding justice, protecting citizens’ rights, and ensuring accountability in governance.
Since its inception in 2000, the Bangladesh Business Awards have evolved into one of the most respected recognitions in South Asia’s corporate landscape. By honoring trailblazers who combine innovation with integrity, the awards aim to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs to continue driving Bangladesh’s remarkable growth story.
